On abnormal morphology of the genus Lenticulina Lamarck, 1804 (Foraminifera)

Acta Palaeontologica Polonica 13 (4), 1968: 631-643

A detailed analysis has been made of the specimens of different species assigned to Lenticulina Lamarck, 1804 and having a trochospirally coiled test, abnormal for this genus. On the basis of morphological studies and observations in a transmitted light, the groundlessness has been shown of separating such specimens and erecting for them the genus Darbyella Howe & Wallace, 1932. These trochospiral lenticulins from the Jurassic, Cretaceous and Paleocene of Poland correspond to abnormal ontogenetic stages of respective symmetric species.
